Universiade 2011 Erzurum Winter Games started on 27 January 2011 with a magnificent visual show. The mapping application was made with Christie projection devices to cover the field surface of the Cemal Gürsel stadium, where the organization was held. The dance show of the Fire of Anatolia, which left its mark on the opening ceremony, was decorated with local motifs reflected from the Christie Projector. 16 Christie Roadster HD18K projectors were used in the show.

A 360° image was created with Sanyo PLC-XF47 projectors on the surface of 4 giant balloons with a diameter of 18 meters around the outer circumference. The ceremony, attended by athletes from 58 countries, was watched by the whole world as well as 21,000 people attending the opening. Turkey got thumbs up from all the audience with the balloons off the field and the mapping show on the field.
